Boys U16 & U18s Inter-District information

The U16 and U18 boys will battle it out this weekend at the Inter-District competitions at the National Hockey Centre in Glasgow this weekend (24-25th September). The tournament will get underway at 10am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday.

There will be two days of excellent youth hockey as the youth international coaches and managers get together to select the squads for the Scotland U16 and U18 performance programmes.

Teams from five districts will take part – East; North; West; Midlands; and Highland. The competition will feature a round-robin format.

Last year’s competition saw Midland crowned as the winners of the U18 Boys Inter-District event following a narrow 1-0 win over East in the final. In the 3rd/4th play-off, West were comfortable 3-0 winners over North.

In the U16 Boys Inter-District event, West were the overall winners after some emphatic results, including a 10-0 win over Midland, 8-1 against Highland, a 6-1 victory against North, and a 3-1 success over East. North finished joint second with East, but took the runners-up spot by virtue of a better goals scored record.

A great weekend of youth hockey awaits so come along to support your friends or family members.
