Bottom table battle between Glasgow Uni and Monarchs
A winter break this weekend for teams to prepare for the start of the Indoor league, however no rest for the wicked for some as we preview this weekend’s games.
Aberdeen Asset Management Men’s National League Division 2
We start the day with an early push back for second and third place, Watsonians sit above Aberdeen GDFP with a game in hand and are comfortably ahead with 9 points. Last time these two met it ended in a 0-0 draw, however with Watsonains recent winning run expect an exciting game.
Top team Uddingston welcome fourth place University of St Andrews, the students are only two points behind third position but will face a tough ask to get any points off this inform Uddingston team.
At the other end of the table bottom side FMGM Monarchs face eleventh place Glasgow University, the struggling side know this is their best opportunity to secure more points on the table. However after the students secured a surprise win over Aberdeen GDFP last weekend they will be full of confidence going into this bottom of the table match.
Fifth place Falkirk GHG play CALA Edinburgh, last time these two met Falkirk came out on top in a close 3-2 win. The will be hoping for a repeat performance as a win will take them up into the top four.
Erskine Stewart Melville FP play at home to Granite City Wanderers who drew at the start of season. Only two points between the two sides, so both will be eager to secure points this weekend.
Mid table side Stepps play lower down side Alpha Data Carnegie, Stepps were the victors last time these two met with a comfortable 5-1 win, this weekend they have the home advantage and will be looking to gain all three points to help them move up the table.
Aberdeen Asset Management Men’s National League Division 3
Bottom side ADTI Aberdeen University welcome top side 2020 Renewables Greenock, Greenock are yet to lose a match and after a draw last weekend they will be going into this match looking to go back to their winning ways.
Struggling Ayr travel away to Giffnock, last time these two faced each other it was a close match ending 3-2 to the Giffnock. A win for the Glasgow based side would see them go equal on seventh and help them out after having points adjusted.
A mid table battle between fifth place University of Strathclyde taking on Waverly Inveresk Trinity, both sides are on the same amount of points with the students having a game in hand.
Fourth place University of Dundee make the journey west to face Stirling Wanderers, the students will be looking for a win in the very congested top half of the table, in there campaign to reach to reach the playoffs.
Elsewhere Harris Academy lie third in the table, equal points with fourth place, they welcome Highland this weekend.
Men’s Regional League Central Division 1
After a solid win last weekend for Thomson’s Cycles Kelburne II moved up to fourth, they welcome bottom side University of Stirling who have really struggled so far this season.
Edinburgh University II welcome ninth place Western Wildcats II, last time these two met the students came out on top. If the Wildcats win it will see them move up the table in a very tight middle of the division.
Grange III welcome Stepps II, both on equal 12 points with the Edinburgh based side having a game in hand. Sixth place Inverleith II play PSL Team Sport Clydesdale II.
Men’s Regional League Central Division 2
Top of the table Rottenrow Blue Sox go into the Christmas break undefeated if they secure another win this weekend, they travel away to Erskine Stewart Melville FP II.
Fourth place Clydeside are away to struggling Alpha Data Carnegie II, it was a 3-0 win over the thirteenth place side earlier on in the season and Clydeside will feel comfortable they can have a repeat performance.
Sixth place Watsonians II welcome bottom side Livingston & West Lothian, if Watsonians take the win, like previous they will have the chance to move up to fifth.
Second place Uddingston II welcome PSL Team Sport Clydesdale III, when these two teams met earlier in the season Uddingston snatched the win 3-2.
Fifth place East Kilbride welcome GHK and Anchor travel away to CALA Edinburgh II.
