Andy Borrie joins board of Great Britain Hockey
Great Britain Hockey has announced that after a thorough
recruitment process, Andy Borrie has been appointed to the board of
Great Britain Hockey as an independent director. He replaces
David Collier, who has completed his four year term on the
board.
48 year old Borrie is Deputy Director of Sport at Loughborough
University where he leads the University performance system and
works with sporting National Governing Bodies to enhance their
performance programmes. He has extensive experience as a
consultant in world class sport science and coaching and is on the
board of England Netball.
A hockey player with his local mixed hockey club, Loughborough
Carillon, Andy said of his appointment: “It is an exciting
opportunity to help Great Britain Hockey build on its recent
success and to continue to strive for success in the future.
Richard Leman, President of Great Britain Hockey, said: “We
would like to thank David Collier for the time and commitment he
has given Great Britain Hockey; his views and opinions have always
been highly respected. We now look forward to welcoming and
working with Andy, whose skills and expertise I am very confident
will be a superb addition to the board.”
Andy Borrie will officially take up the position on 1 September
2011.
