Amy Malone appointed as Performance Programme Manager
Scottish Hockey is delighted to have appointed Amy Malone as its Performance Programme Manager.
Bringing a wealth of performance and sporting experience into the role, Amy joins Scottish Hockey from sportscotland’s Institute of Sport, where she was Regional Performance Administrator (East) for the last four years.
Amy has been the manager of the Scotland Men’s National Team since 2020, and has been involved in the team’s participation at Birmingham 2022, as well as international competitions such as EuroHockey Championship II; EuroHockey Qualifiers; and FIH World Cup Qualifiers.
Amy’s hockey journey began in 2014 when she worked as competition coordinator for hockey at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre for Glasgow 2014.
The Performance Programme Manager role supports the Director of Hockey Operations in setting and delivering the strategic direction, culture and values for high performance hockey in Scotland.
Amy said, “I’m really excited to join Scottish Hockey in a fantastic role where I can have an impact across performance in the sport. Moving from Reset to Build, it’s a great time for Scottish Hockey and there is a lot we can achieve going forward.
“I’m looking to build on the great work that’s already been done, and using my experience of working with the men’s team as manager to have a bigger impact across performance.”
Scottish Hockey’s Director of Hockey Operations, Jennifer Griffin, said, “It is great to have Amy joining the staff team on a fulltime basis, making that transition from Team Manager to Performance Programme Manager. Amy is already familiar with the organisation, our performance structure, and team, which will allow her to hit the ground running.”
