Craig’s involvement with Monarchs began 19 years ago when he started playing for the club at the age of 14. In addition to his on-field contributions, Craig actively engaged in the club’s administrative aspects, initially joining the club committee, assuming the secretary role for several years, and eventually becoming president, a position he has held for five years. His dedication also extends to coaching; he has been the assistant coach for Monarchs Men’s 1s for the past three seasons, contributing to their successful premiership promotion and consecutive Scottish plate victories. Furthermore, Craig has coached the club’s ladies’ indoor team in the district for the last two seasons, significantly improving their performance from winning only three games in four years to losing just one game in two seasons.

Craig takes pride in fostering a strong family-oriented club with high member retention, implementing effective procedures, and recruiting dedicated individuals to ensure the club’s strength both on and off the field. As a result, Monarchs have gained a reputation as a reputable and robust club. Craig transitioned from vice-president to president of Midland District, where his successful tenure led to his re-election for a second term.

His commitment also saw him temporarily filling the vacant men’s competition convenor role, where he successfully liaised with clubs to implement structural changes and improvements to the men’s leagues. As President, Craig has filled all committee roles, a first in a long time, and tirelessly worked on overall organizational improvements. His efforts have ensured the district is well-prepared for the future and efficiently managed.

Craig is particularly proud of modernizing the district through the successful use of social media and digital platforms. He has established strong relationships with key stakeholders in Scottish Hockey and aims to continue driving positive momentum as an ambassador for the sport.
