Granite City Wanderers to host Charity Fundraiser
Granite City Wanderers will host a Charity Fun Day on Saturday 18 July at the Rubislaw hockey pitches in Aberdeen in memory of two club members who sadly lost their battles with cancer.
The event will include fun games, face painting, space hopper races, tug of wars, a BBQ, raffles, and a 7-a-side tournament featuring a number of local teams.
The prize attraction of the day will feature coaches Sandy Keith and Dom Cruickshanks being locked in some medival stocks while participants throw wet sponge and paper-filled plates of cream at them.
Squad members Lisa Clyne and Aaron White have been the driving force behind a fundraising day, on Saturday July 18. Lisa says this is the team’s way of giving something back to the charities that helped their friends.
She said: “All the money raised from the day will go to Friends of Anchor and CLAN.”
“It’ll be a fun day of hockey and a chance for everyone to get together and have a good laugh.
“We’re just hoping for a nice sunny day now.”
All proceeds raised from the day will go straight to Friends of Anchor and CLAN.
