Online Umpire Level 1 (theory)

Looking to get into umpiring? Scottish Hockey are pleased to offer a nationally organised online theory component of the Level 1 umpire course.

The Level 1 course is aimed at aspiring and trainee umpires.

The online component of this course will introduce individuals to the role of the umpire and present attendees with opportunities to discuss umpiring with experienced and qualified tutors.

This course is designed for anyone who is going to be umpiring the 11-a-side game.

• You will need to complete the online rules test before attending.  Create a HockeyHub account, learn more about the rules of hockey and try the test.
• The course is made up of 4 modules:
  • The game from a players’ perspective
  • The role of the umpire
  • Player management
  • Preparation and planning the next steps

Once attended, you will then attend a practical training session within your District and arrange an assessment to gain your Umpire Level 1.
