iKnow Partnerships: Engaging with charitable partners
Scottish Hockey’s charitable partners Cancer Research UK and British Heart Foundation will be presenting on a couple of different topics:
In the run up to World Cancer Day in February, Heather Duff (Aquistion Manager at Cancer Research UK) will be focusing on “Talk Cancer”.
Talk Cancer is a Cancer Research UK training programme created by nurses to help you feel confident talking to people about ways to reduce the risk of cancer, spotting cancer early and screening. Taking part in this session will help you:
- Understand the key messages around cancer awareness
- Improve your confidence and ‘know how’ to make the most of your conversations about cancer and health
- Encourage people to make healthy changes, use local services and see their doctor with any concerns
In the run up to Heart Month in February Lynsey Anderson (Fundraising Manager at British Heart Foundation) will also share ideas on how clubs can encourage their memberships to get involved in fundraising in simple, fun and engaging ways.
