iKnow: Leaders course tutor training
This workshop will provide tutor training for those interested in delivering Scottish Hockey’s Leaders Course.
Scottish Hockey’s Leaders training has been a very popular training resource for clubs and schools as it provides a good platform for new coaches and volunteers to gain experience in how to manage and control groups at a participation level.
We have now updated the Leader syllabus to integrate GB Hockey’s Golden Thread model for coaching, as well Scottish Hockey’s new game formats within the player pathway model.
Newly trained tutors will now deliver a Leaders course which offers a broader introduction to managing groups including:
- Managing group activity in a fun and safe environment
- Delivering warm up and fun games using the Golden Thread
- Introducing game play via SH’s player pathway
- Basic Umpiring Tips
- Festival guidance
iKnow Month
Scottish Hockey has launched iKnow month – four weeks of evening online skills and best practice workshops in January.
These workshops will offer members the chance to sharpen skills in governance; workforce development; media; changing lives; good practice; and parental engagement.
We’ll be getting in touch with coaches; presidents and vice-presidents at clubs and districts; leaders and future leaders; umpires and anyone who has previously engaged with a related programme in the past.
