iKnow: Improving parental engagement

A workshop designed to share strategies for clubs to better engage parents with club activities (both on and off the pitch).

Youth hockey cannot run without the support of parent helpers and coaches. Find out how clubs and the national squads have worked with parents to deliver a successful youth hockey programmes.

Topics covered will include:

• Fully engaging parents in a club’s vision
• A real life example of successful parent deployment within a club youth section
• Engaging parental support within national age group squads
• Parental involvement in fundraising (e.g. using Fantastic Fanatics platform)

iKnow Month

Scottish Hockey has launched iKnow month – four weeks of evening online skills and best practice workshops in January.

These workshops will offer members the chance to sharpen skills in governance; workforce development; media; changing lives; good practice; and parental engagement.
