Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer Training
Child Wellbeing and Protection Officer training (CWPO) replaces the previous In Safe Hands Training course for Child Protection Officers and is recommended to be updated every 3 years.
Cost: £20 (Scottish Hockey members), £25 (Non-members)
This course is open to Child Wellbeing and Protection Officers or those in a similar role who are aged 18+ yrs.
The aims of the workshop are:
- To provide participants with the opportunity to further develop skills in fulfilling their role as Child Protection Officer
- To provide the opportunity for Child Protection Officers to explore, in more detail, the type of well being and protection concerns that may arise for children and young people within, or outwith, the SGB, club environment and how to respond effectively
- To help SGB/clubs implement practices and procedures to keep children and young people safe.
This course will be fully delivered online and has a maximum of 20 spaces, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Entries will close 2 weeks prior to the event date.
A link to the course will be distributed to participants 7 days prior to the course date.

A pre-requisite for attending this course is completion of the one of the following courses within the last 3 years:
- Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport
- Safeguarding & Protecting Children
- In Safe Hands
