Child Wellbeing & Protection in Sport

Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport (CWPS) replaces the previous Safeguarding and Protecting Children (SPC) course and is recommended to be updated every 3 years.

This course is open to any volunteer, coach, club member or parent who is 16 years + and in regulated work, delivering or leading sporting activities.

This course will be fully delivered online and has a maximum of 20 spaces, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Entries will close 2 weeks prior to the course date.

Cost: £20 for Scottish Hockey members, £25 for non-members.

Please note:

This course of made up of two modules:

Module 1: An eLearning module introducing you to the basic theory, knowledge and practice which underpins child wellbeing and protection in sport. On average it should take around 30 minutes to complete the module and you MUST complete this module before attending Module 2.

A link to the eLearning module will be sent after completion of registration.

Module 2: A 3 hour online training course lead by one of sportscotland’s approved tutors. Learners must complete both modules to gain the qualification and receive their certificate.

A link to the online meeting will be sent to participants approx. 7 days prior to the workshop.

• Completion of this course is a pre-requisite for club Child Protection Officers who are looking to complete the Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer course.

Spaces will only be confirmed once payment is made. Unpaid reservations risk being re-allocated to the waiting list.
