iKnow Partnerships: Reducing barriers to participation
This workshop with present real life examples of how sports clubs are engaging new participants, and engaging with hard to reach groups
Over the last few years, how people access sport and physical activity has changed dramatically. Hockey clubs can provide a really positive playing and social environment for players, but how can we promote and adapt our offer to new (or hard to reach) groups to encourage greater participation?
This workshop will explore examples of best practice from hockey and other sports, to show how adapting a club’s offer can widened the reach of the sport, access new groups and increase participation & club membership.
This will include a presentation from Aberdeen Amateur Athletics Club, who will include:
- How they have had success targeting new user groups
- Delivered satellite sessions in new areas
- Offered membership incentives to support those who would be unable to access club membership otherwise.
