Scottish Hockey is delighted to team up with Cancer Research UK and support the fight against cancer. Through the Club Pledge initiative, which hockey clubs across Scotland have signed up to support, the hockey family can come together to raise funds and support Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work.

Hockey is the fun, friendly and exciting sport for life so let’s use hockey’s platform to help raise awareness and improve early diagnosis and prevention of cancer. We’re determined to help families stay together and bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Want to fundraise for Cancer Research?

Clubs can choose to fundraise for Cancer Research by using Scottish Hockey’s fundraising page. Many clubs already have charity partners, but all clubs can choose to support Scottish Hockey’s charity partners through Club Pledge. Any funds raised will go to the charity directly, and will not pass through Scottish Hockey. All clubs need to do to start fundraising for Cancer Research is click HERE and make a profile.

Race For Life & Pretty Muddy is back!

Cancer Research UK’s much-loved Race for Life events are planning to return this autumn across the UK. Race for Life unites people together with one common goal – to beat cancer. By signing up to an event and raising money, everyone can make a real difference by helping to fund life-saving research.  Confirmed dates are below:

Race For Life Discount Codes

Cancer Research UK has confirmed events including Race For Life, Pretty Muddy and Shine happening across the country between August & October. As a charity partner Cancer Research UK can offer Scottish Hockey the following number of discount entry codes. The total number can be divided between the clubs.

Race For Life or Pretty Muddy: 100 codes offering a 50% discount

Shine: 50 codes offering a 30% discount

Stand Up To Cancer

In partnership with channel 4, Stand Up to Cancer is an annual fundraising campaign in October that brings the UK together to speed up progress in life-saving cancer research.

Stand Up To Cancer is different because it specifically funds a type of research called translational research. Translational research is specially designed to take ground-breaking discoveries from the lab and turn them into new treatments and tests that could actually save lives.

Stand Up To Cancer is a restricted fund, which means 100% of income is spent on research. This means we can get treatments from the lab to patients faster, helping to accelerate our life saving research.

For this year’s campaign there are a number of opportunities the clubs could access:

  • Cash Collections
  • Standing Up To Cancer Challenge on Friday 15th October
  • Sunday Brunch  Fundraiser
  • Wear Orange
