Wildcats beat rivals Clydesdale in front of a big home crowd

Western Wildcats got the better of local rivals PSL Team Sport Clydesdale winning 3-1 in front of a stellar crowd this evening.

Western scored first with a sole effort from Ian Moodie, this woke Clydesdale up and were soon pressuring the Wildcats defence.

Both sides came out the second half eager to score but Western player McCartney extended the home sides lead with a solid strike to knock the ball over Clydesdale keeper to make it 2-0.

Western caught Clydesdale on the back foot soon after and the third went in behind the net, from Moodie. 

It was end to end play with Clydesdale pressuring the Cats defence with many penalty corners saved or just edged wide but Clydesdale finally pulled one back from Allen.

A great evening of hockey was had – these sides meet again in the Scottish Cup on Sunday. Expect another thriller!
