This year’s Club Community Fund awards announced

The recipients of awards from this year’s Club Community Fund have been announced. It follows the successful launch of the fund last year that saw several successful projects building links with schools.

Once again, clubs across Scotland could apply for up to £1,000 to implement initiatives to grow and develop school hockey and create strong school to club links.

This fund supports activity between May 2024 and November 2024.

There are four outcomes for each project, which are:

  • Introduce hockey to new schools with little or no provision.  
  • Grow youth participation at the hockey club 
  • Develop teachers/coaches/young leaders/officials 
  • Engagement with Community partners to support living needs 

 Scottish Hockey’s Director of Hockey Operations Jennifer Griffin said, “It’s brilliant to see more exciting projects across Scotland get off the ground through the Club Community Fund. Once again, the response from clubs was fantastic, with a number of excellent proposals across the country.

“We’re really looking forward to helping these projects get underway. Supporting clubs to work with schools is an important priority for us, especially in areas where there isn’t any hockey offer at the moment.

“Already the Club Community Fund is making a big impact in school-to-club links, so we’re delighted to build on this further to support more clubs with projects across Scotland.”

  • Kelburne Hockey Club
  • Dundee Wanderers Hockey Club
  • University of St Andrews
  • Granite City Wanderers
  • Falkirk and Linlithgow Hockey Club
  • Fjordhus Reivers
  • Stirling Wanderers Hockey Club
  • Grove Menzieshill Hockey Club
  • Hillhead Hockey Club
