Scottish Masters perform well in Belfast
Scotland’s Masters teams were out in force last week in the European Open Championships held in Belfast.
With representations across the age groups on the men’s side and a women’s team in the over 40’s competition, the event was a fanstastic opportunity for our talented Masters to face some world class opposition.
Scotland also sent along officials Brian Moore and Blair Thomson who performed well keeping the players in check. The players and officials had a fanastatic week with a mixture of results across the ages.
Results
Women’s o40s managed to take away the gold medal after beating England in the final 1-0.

Men’s o40s finished 5th in their competition with some tough results against strong opposition. England took gold with South Africa claiming silver and Ireland the bronze.

- Scotland 3-1 Wales
Men’s 045s unfortunately finished bottom of their group with Germany taking the gold, England the silver and Ireland Bronze.

Men’s o50s enjoyed success, finishing second in their competition taking home the silver behind England who finished top and ahead of Wales who won bronze.

Men’s o55s also found medal success finishing third behind the Dutch in second place and England in first.
