Scotland women’s squad to face Wales at Peffermill
Scotland women are back in action on home turf as they will play a two-match series against Wales at Peffermill over the Easter weekend.
The Scots take on the Welsh at 2:00pm on Saturday 8 April and 10:00am on Sunday 9 April, as they build towards this summer’s EuroHockey Championships in Monchengladbach, Germany.
In the summer Scotland will play in Group B against England; Germany; and Ireland, while the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and Italy meet in Group A.
Head Coach Chris Duncan said, “Representing Scotland is always a special occasion, and to be at home in Scotland for our first competitive outings of the year is really exciting. The work the players have put in over the winter period has been exceptional, and these matches really are the start of our international summer.
“We have worked hard since the success of our European qualifier last August, to develop some areas that we identified would really assist in our development, and it will be great to see how far we have progressed in these approaches against really tough opposition in Wales.”
