Scotland under 18 girls win 4-2

CHALLENGE MATCH IN LISBURN

After losing 6-0 in the opening fixture against Ireland on
Friday, Scotland`s under 18 girls bounced back to win 4-2 in
today`s second match in the series.

Ireland took the lead in four minutes, but Surbiton`s Hannah
Thomson equalised from a pass by Amber McNeill.   The
Scots then went ahead 2-1 at a penalty corner, the ball was played
back to Inverleith`s Sarah Jamieson at the post and she popped the
ball home.  

At another penalty corner the Scots youngsters went 3-1 up when
the ball was slipped left and Emily Newlands of Borders Fjordhus
hammered the ball home.   A carbon copy set piece gave
the Scots a commanding 4-1 lead, this time Milne Craig Western`s
Jenny Eadie was the scorer.   At the other end
Linlithgow`s Joanne Beedie made some vital second half saves to
keep the Irish at bay.
