Scotland U16 girls in Germany

Scotland U16 Girls travel to Mannheim this weekend for
three international matches against hosts Germany, the Netherlands
and Belgium.

Head Coach Bill Robson has named eighteen players in his squad,
including Watsonians HC quartet Catriona McLellan, Claire Hill,
Gina Ramsay, Lucy Ramsay, and Clydedale Western trio Anna Crawford,
Fiona Burnet, Rosie Shanks.

Robson was keen to emphasise that the players’ development was
his priority, not the outcome of the three matches:

“These games will be a tough examination for the players,
particularly as they will face three of the top European nations
over the course of the weekend”, he said.

“However, the performance of the players is our focus, not the
results. This will be a steep learning curve but if the players aim
to perform to their full abilities and the targets we have set, the
experience will bear fruit for the future. Any success on the pitch
we achieve will be an additional bonus.”
