Grove a game away from the title
SUBWAY NATIONAL LEAGUE (WOMEN)
Grove Menzieshill are one game away from their sixth
Subway national league title after beating Western Wildcats 7-0,
Ali Bell notched a hat-trick and the other goals came from Louise
Campbell, Linda Clement, Kerry Hall and Lizzie Bush.
Milne Craig Western are still on Grove`s shoulder with a 6-0 win
over Glynhill Kelburne at Titwood. Holly Cram opened
with a rebound from a Helen Walker shot, then a Catriona Ralph
penalty corner routine finished with Nicki Scrastin finishing at
the post and the third before the interval came from Nicola
Pitticas from a deflection. The scoring continued after
the interval, Susan McGilivray with a reverse stick shot, Pitticas
again and finally Cram with a shot that went in off a defender,
completed the scoring.
Edinburgh University have virtually assured themselves of fourth
place in the table with a 2-1 win over rivals VWS Dundee
Wanderers. Laura Protheroe gave the students a
one goal lead at the interval, After the Taysiders equalised
through Louise Sheriff, Edinburgh`s winner did not come until
an overtime penalty corner which Sarah Robertson converted for the
winner.
Grange are still in relegation trouble after only drawing 2-2
with bottom side GHK.
Goals from Emma Watson and Amy Brodie gave CALA Edinburgh a 2-1
win over third placed Giffnock, Rhona Simpson replied for the East
Renfrewshire side.
