East and Midland take Inter-District honours
East and Midland were the winners of the U18 and U16 Inter-District competitions at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre this weekend.
Following two days of excellent youth hockey at the new venue, the youth international coaches and managers will get together to select the squads for the Scotland U16 and U18 performance programmes.
In the U18 Boys event, it came down to a ‘winner takes all’ contest between East and West, with the former running out 2-1 victors ensuring they topped the standings.
In the U16 Boys event, Midland’s 2-0 win over West yesterday turned out to the be the all important result.
Congratulations to all the players, coaches, officials, volunteers and staff for making it an enjoyable and excllent weekend for all who participated.
The U18 and U16 Girls Inter-District event will take place at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre next weekend (28/29 September). The schedule is now available in the youth competitions section.
