Brian Cumming

It is with deep regret that Dundee Wanderers HC inform you that Brian [Cuj]
Cummings, a Wanderer since 1964, suddenly passed away in mid-Decenber after a short illness.
Over the years Brian played in every Wanderer side from 1 to 6
and for many seasons was a key member of the clubs 1st Team. He
was pivotal in the 1973 Scottish Cup winning side that defeated
the much fancied Inverleith in a penalty shoot out
That season was the first but not the last that Cuj was the
club’s top scorer and along with Dave McMahon, Cuj scored the
penalties that won our first Scottish Cup.
Brian was an extraordinarily talented player  for Dundee Wanderers
and Midland District, both Indoor and Outdoor, who had a presence
both on and off the field. He was a generous man who shared his
experience with his team mates and nurtured the talents of
countless players who went onto play 1st team and International
hockey.
Cuj will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him, none more so
than the Wanderers community, we are sad for his passing but will
honour his memory.
