The Head of Domestic Game creates, leads and delivers the development and growth targets as part of the “Hockey in Scotland” strategic Plan.

The primary function of the role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the Scottish Hockey domestic game programmes including the development, competitions and coaching teams. As a senior leader there is a requirement to drive, motivate and inspire the wider team while ensuring that the right structures, support networks, events and competitions exist to grow the sport, create a more competitive performance pathway and inspire the next generation of hockey players, coaches, officials and volunteers. Identifying and delivering great opportunities for new participants to the sport through ongoing enthusiasm, commitment and partnership working which deliver plans with clear benchmarking to identify success. An essential key behaviour is to be great communicator with the ability to sell the vision to a diverse range of stakeholders which in turn builds great relationships. The Head of Domestic Game position was created to embed the benefits of great cross working leading to shared projects as standard practice.
