Two national teacher in-service days are held during the year for registered Schools and Youth Clubs. These sessions offer support and resoruces for teachers and coaches involved in delivery of hockey for children and young adults.
These are normally at the start of each calendar year and then in September, focussing on various topical areas of hockey development.
There are other types of in-service training and support available too. These can be organised locally on demand by Schools or Local Authorities for Continual Professional Development in their teaching staff or volunteer programmes.
These are for Primary or Secondary School Teachers to learn more about the game and rules of hockey. They typically last 1hr 30mins - 2hrs.
The costs associated with organising this training is £75.00 - £100 for up to 20 people.
STIX In-Service is training for Primary and Secondary Teachers who wish to use Scottish Hockey STIX resource pack, which is suitable for 5-14 year olds in P.E classes.
The training introduces our STIX model and highlights progressive sessions and games structures for varying age groups and ability levels. Sessions last between 2-3 hours.
The costs associated with organising this training is £100 - £150 for up to 20 people.
Curriculum for Excellence
This training will focus on various elements related to the above qualification for Secondary School Teachers. Sessions last from 1 hr 30mins - 3 hours.
