BIG LOTTERY FUND - 2014 COMMUNITIES

The BIG Lottery Fund wants to provide support to people and communities across Scotland who want to benefit from the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

The BIG Lottery Fund has developed a new funding and grants programme,'2014 Communities', for supporting:

  • Local Sports Clubs
  • Schools
  • Voluntary and Community Organisations

Grants from £300 up to £2,000 are available to support and stimulate grassroots involvement in sport and physical activity.

Aims of '2014 Communities' Grants

The aims are to fund projects that will achieve one or more of the following outcomes:

  • More people take part in sport or physical activity.
  • More people volunteer in sport or physical activity.
  • More people and communities are brought together through taking part or volunteering in sport or physical activity.

The BIG Lottery Fund will offer grants to sports clubs and you can apply for one grant in a 12 month period.

Funding Eligibility

The BIG Lottery Fund would funding to reach people who are less likely to take part in sport or physical activities. The priorities are:

  • Getting more women and girls to take part in sport or physical activity.
  • Getting more disabled people to take part in sport or physical activity.
  • Getting more older people (over 50 years old) to take part in sport or physical activity.
  • Getting more younger people (under 25 years old) and older people to take part in sport or physical activity together.
  • Getting more people from ethnic minority communities to take part in sport or physical activity.
